Where Did I Come From?
I am the sum of the experiences I’ve had - and many of those experiences have been in places of learning and teaching. Whether it’s a college setting or the training classroom, I love spaces that value growth, challenge, and social learning
History
Bachelor of Arts, Gettysburg College
Gettysburg College was a formative experience for me - a place to become an historian and learn how to do the work of history. It was also the place I grew beyond Civil War and military history into the boundless worlds of social history and historical memory.
Applied History
Master of Arts, Shippensburg University
Shippensburg University is a deeply nurturing environment that strives to help its students prepare for a real world experience. The program champions field experience and community engagement above all else. Shippensburg showed me just how caring history colleagues can be.
Interpretation
Mather Training Center, National Park Service
For more than a decade, I’ve served as a park ranger and interpretive trainer for the National Park Service, piloting new and innovative ways of communicating with park visitors.
